Hierdoor, we help businesses build a beautiful and functional Mobile App written in the latest and greatest web language – HTML 5. But we know it’s important to keep your business’ branding consistent, so here’s a quick tutorial on how to setup your own custom Mobile App URL.
At first look, this may seem a little intimidating, maar maak je geen zorgen! In just 3 eenvoudige stappen, I will show you how to take your existing domain name, and link your Heyo Mobile App directly to it (note: this option is for whitelabel customers only).
I’ll be walking you through how to make your custom Mobile App URL in Heyo using Godaddy.com’s system. If you use another hosting service like Namecheap, Name.com, or Gandi – the process is very similar, so still follow along and you’ll see how you can do it for yourself (or click here for instructions).
How to make your custom Mobile App URL in Heyo
Eerste, let’s use one example all the way through… (wenk: click on the photos to enlarge them)
Our existing domain name is: http://www.davidageorge.me
We made our Mobile App in Heyo and were given the URL: http://m.heyo.com/ohg9jr
MAAR, the desired URL that you want the public to see is: http://mobile.davidageorge.me
Now let’s get started!
Stap 1: Login to your Hosting provider (godaddy.com), select your domain name, and click Launch
Stap 2: Volgende, launch the DNS Manager for your selected domain name
Stap 3: Create your CNAME record
Don’t let the weird name scare you, it’s easier than it sounds and this is where you get to be creative!
Eerste, locate the list of CNAME files in the DNS Manager, and add a new CNAME record (in Godaddy, click on the Quick Add button).
Under the “CNAME” column, enter the extension you want to be place at beginning of your domain name. Bijvoorbeeld, we want the URL http://mobile.davidageorge.me so we would put the word “mobiel” in this column.
Volgende, we will want to fill in the “Points to” field. Simply take the webpage URL you were given in Heyo, and rearrange it by taking the end of the URL and placing it at the beginning. Zo, since our Heyo URL was http://m.heyo.com/ohg9jr, we will put “ohg9jr.m.heyo.com” in de “Points to” field.
Save your zone file, and you’re all done!
